Encountering the Shadow-Self – Part 2
… and our personal and collective responsibility and integration
The shadow is not what is evil in us, it is what remains unseen.
Part 1 of this workshop series asked what happens when we stop looking away from ourselves. Part 2 asks what happens when we stop looking away from each other.
This webinar is for everyone who is interested in deeper personal growth, but essential for anyone who is actively guiding or working with others in healing, growth, or conscious transformation.
Carl Jung described the shadow as the hidden part of the psyche: the impulses, fears, desires, and contradictions we What we cannot face in ourselves, we do not lose, but rather we hand it somewhere else to carry. Carl Jung described a layer beneath the personal unconscious, shared by every human being: the collective unconscious.
The collective unconscious is not made of memories but of inherited patterns, instincts, and archeypes. Where there is a collective light, there is also a collective shadow. A culture disowns what it cannot face in exactly the same way an individual does, and what it disowns does not disappear. It surfaces, projected onto the figures we cannot stop watching, the ones we build into monsters, the ones we polish into saints, the ideals we chase, the enemies we create.
Rather than approaching this as abstract spirituality, this experience focuses on practical awareness: recognizing collective projection, understanding scapegoating and idealization as two faces of the same mechanism, and seeing how your personal shadow is not sealed off, but fed by, and feeding into, something far older and larger than you.
We will examine how the shadow shows up in the world around us right now, with concrete examples, and what it costs a culture to keep looking away
At this moment in history, the willingness to encounter not only our own shadow, but the one we share, may be one of the most important steps on any authentic path of personal development.
This workshop is for the truly courageous!
